The Best Easy Keto Garlic Butter Rolls Recipe – almond flour baked rolls with a rich garlic butter flavor, a bread-like taste and crumb, and are springy and light – without all the carbs or funny ingredients!

If you’re on a keto diet and missing delicious baked breads and rolls, this recipe is about to become your new favorite.

These rolls taste like bread, even though they are gluten free and contain almond flour – but have a nice crumb (which just means when you slice it open it looks and feels bread-like), and aren’t dense.

We’re not using any special ingredients outside of almond flour, so this recipe is more budget friendly than some keto rolls I’ve tried.

I can’t ever seem to find all the fancy keto baking ingredients – so I designed this recipe to forgo them for more common ingredients that you can find at a local grocery store.

These rolls are based off the super delicious Garlic Artichoke Keto rolls I recently made – and make a perfect side dish for Thanksgiving or Christmas – while being easy enough to make any night of the week.

I hope you love these delicious rolls as much as I do – and want to try more of our delicious keto sides!

Tips to Perfect Garlic Butter Keto Rolls

While these rolls are as easy as mix and bake, there are a couple tips and tricks to make perfect rolls – every single time.

Use Superfine Almond Flour

For this recipe, we’re using superfine almond flour to mimic flour – a course flour will be heavier and not give a bread-like lift and crumb.\

Use Cold Cream Cheese

To help retain a round shape, we reccomend using chilled dough with cold cream cheese.

If you need to let your cream cheese come to room temperature to incorporate when stirring, pop dough in refrigerator for 20-25 minutes to let it chill a bit before baking.

Preheat Oven

For perfect rolls, it really is crucial to have a preheated oven.

If your oven isn’t hot enough when rolls go into oven, they will melt and spread out, making them more dense.

For the absolute best results: preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and place rolls in oven. Reduce to 350 degrees to bake.

To Make These Rolls, You’ll Need

These rolls are simple and delicious – and don’t require too many specialty items.

We are using superfine almond flour as an alternative to flour – which is a bit of a specialty item – but widely available in all grocery stores.

Opt for superfine blanched almond flour for the best texture with these rolls.

We have tried to swap out more of our kitchen tools to be silicone as we continue to make more keto recipes – especially when making keto desserts – because it makes cleanup and even cooking easier.

A lot of keto recipes rely on cheese and egg, making them a bit stickier than dishes with flour – so opting for nonstick tools helps quite a bit.

How To Store Keto Rolls

These keto rolls can be saved in the refrigerator for up to five days in an airtight container.

To serve, pop in oven or toaster oven at 350 degrees for 15 minutes, or until piping hot.

Rolls can be microwaved, but we find the texture best when baked to hot – microwaving to reheat can make texture a bit gummy.

Rolls can be frozen after baking – pop in oven from frozen to reheat!

You can also slice these rolls in half and pop into the toaster for a tasty breakfast with cream cheese or lox, like our keto salmon toast or keto avocado toast instead of using the sandwich bread!

Recipe FAQ’s

Is there a dairy alternative?

To make this recipe without cheese, please use a low moisture nut cheese and vegan ghee that is keto compliant.

When are keto rolls done?

Keto rolls brown beautifully in the oven, and will get browned around the edges when done.
When rolls aren’t fully cooked in the middle, it will appear a bit jiggly and unset – and will have a dense feeling if you tap the side gently. Rolls will feel a bit hollow, and will not jiggle, when fully baked.

How can I keep keto rolls from spreading?

Be sure to have a preheated oven before placing rolls in to bake – if the oven isn’t hot enough when rolls go in, they won’t achieve the right lift, and will spread out.
